Flowers full of sun is inspired by the beautiful landscape of interwoven fynbos species. This area is vast and populated by an arrangement of different flowers and plants. Dominated by a mosaic of colour and textures that thrive together under the African sun.
I chose to paint a scene overlooking this wild nature to encompass the beautiful and diverse landscape of our country.
A few years ago I did a 5 day trail through the Outeniqua mountains and each step left me breathless. I remember vivid hues of orange and green and specifically the pincushion proteas that guided my walk.
I wanted to capture a moment in which I stood on top of the highest mountain peak looking out over the valley and realising just how incredibly lucky I am to be alive.
