Illustrations become a way for me to tell my own(and others’) stories visually. Each subject carries a personal symbolism.
In my mind I am always busy with a narrative within which each individual illustration fits into a timeline or chapter. It becomes a silent book. Pomegranates. Leaves, foxes, succulents, sea animals and fish each have a symbolic meaning in my work. Like a key with which you unlock the story.
