In My Huis

Porcelain and Fynbos.
I named this “In my Huis” because I received a beautiful bouquet of fynbos from my husband and decided to give it eternal life by making it a piece of art. The myriad of tiny leaves on the fynbos was a therapeutic experience to draw, as well as a close-up insight into the structure of the plant. It made me relate to the plant in a different way and realising that we don’t really “see” with appreciation the beauty of nature. We are “artificial” observers instead of being “active” observers.”
