In my kop is ek altyd besig met n naratief waarbinne elke individuele illustrasie inpas in n tydlyn of hoofstuk. Dit word n woordelose storieboek (Silent book). Granate, blare, jakkalsies, vetplante, seediere en visse het elk n simboliese betekenis in my werk.

Illustrations become a way for me to tell my own (and others’) stories visually. Each subject carries a personal symbolism.
In my mind I am always busy with a narrative within which each individual illustration fits into a timeline or chapter. It becomes a silent book. Pomegranates. Leaves, foxes, succulents, sea animals and fish each have a symbolic m3aning in my work. Like a key with which you unlock the story.
