Net vir Jou Suid-Afrika

The Fynbos biome is extremely diverse and it was hard to give credit to its magnificent beauty through the medium of art. The delicacy of the sugarbird immediately presented me with the idea of a fine piece of porcelain on which I felt impelled to present the image of a protea. I love how the two elements relate to each other and also felt it appropriate to honour this piece by naming it: Net vir Jou Suid-Afrika” (an extract from our previous national anthem) because this is the patriotism I feel when I think of our indigenous fauna and flora.
