This tiny plover migrates all the way to South Africa in the summer, where it can be seen foraging for food on beaches, escaping the cold winter season. It breeds in Eurasia, Greenland and North America on sandy beaches and lakeshores. The Ringed Plover can be identified by its orange legs and beak as well as it’s black neck band.
