In researching the coast of Stilbaai, the artist’s first stop was Google Maps where she selected the satellite view… The blues of the ocean brought to mind the lyric “Alles is blou” from Laurika Rauch’s song, “Blou”. The blues of cyanotypes, the rabbit hole of Laurika’s musical oeuvre and the artist’s copy of the “Groot Verseboek 2000”became the elements which have been collaged to make “Huisie by die see”.
