Hope

I wanted to explore the idea of fynbos rising from the ashes. I pushed this idea by using fire to make my initial placement marks. The canvas didn’t burn, but left petal-like grey marks. I then did a rough drawing in charcoal (which is burnt wood), and lastly finished with oil paint. I left some areas where my initial marks are still visible.
